Black Pink And White Scarf!

This lovely scarf was made to be warn different ways and was my first project with a spool knitter I am very happy with the way it turned out.  I did not however get pics of me using the spool loom.  Although I found it quite simple and am really happy I purchased one.  Handles for purses will be forever even.  I purchased mine from Wallmart, for just under 6 dollars and with the patterns online for it the possibilities seem rather endless. It as a necklaceIt can also be warn, as a necklace, a Scarf, a neck warmer, or a headband.  This cute scarf is available here!

The colors are calling.

Colorful Fiber Necklaces

Standard

This lovely necklace is a great way to add plenty of color to any outfit, any time of year.

I love wearing these,  my sister has some as well, we get more comments on these then if we are wearing new jewelry.  These do not take a lot of yarn to make a simple one. The one pictured above was done as a prize for a friends raffle, and got rave reviews.  It was made up of entirely specialty/novelty yarn. Which as we all know is not inexpensive, but even if you have just scrap lengths of complementary colors it makes a really cute fiber necklace.

ImageThe one pictured above is available here I do love wearing these as I have said.  They also are simple to make, any crocheter or knitter can do it. All you need is a crochet needle, yarn of your choosing, and a yarn needle.

chain as many to meet your length requirement,  I like mine long enough to loop around my neck once and still have some drape.

Join the first chain together with a slip stitch.  tie off.

repeat with the next yarn until you have enough chains to make your necklace.  I use from 4 to 20 depending on the bulk and color of my yarn.

With a yarn needle lace the chains together tie off. Weave in ends.

Now here is the fun part you can leave it like that or choose a yarn to wrap around or crochet around the laced together strand.

I know my explanation is quite plain, and extremely bland but my this pattern is very basic and easy so please feel free to use it and have fun if you find a way to make it better please let me know!  And Once again the colors are calling.

The Many Colors of Wash Cloths!

Standard
many cloths

Vintage yarn dish cloths, made with 100% cotton that was made in the usa. many colors.

So I spent the last few days working on this, starting with looting my yarn stash!  Nothings better then digging threw your yarn and finding exactly what your looking for.  In my case it was vintage cotton yarn to make wash/dish cloths with a pattern  i found at cut out and keep,                        http://www.cutoutandkeep.net/projects/dish-rags.   I have been asked by several friends for wash cloths and decided to find a quick pattern, that could be easily customized with different trims.  You will notice the brown with aquamarine, the green with yellow, the brown with cream, and the green with cream and purple.  I love using several colors for washcloths so even bath time or doing dishes is fun! These make a great Christmas or everyday gifts.  I fold them into thirds, then fold in half and tie with  a cute little bow!  This basket I might add was purchased for fifty cents at a local thrift store. The plain basket makes the colors pop even more.  I will post even more about wash cloths as I go and review the many free patterns on the web.  The pattern I have linked in this post is very simple and easy to follow.  I did not find a problem with this pattern.  Once again the colors are calling me!
